The 3rd Regional Conference RE-Source Croatia 2025<\/strong> will be held on March 13, 2025, in Zagreb<\/strong>, organized by Renewable Energy Sources of Croatia (RESC) as the regional hub of the European RE-Source Platform<\/strong>. The conference will focus on advancing PPAs<\/strong> (Power Purchase Agreements) and Guarantees of Origin<\/strong> system, highlighting their significance in driving the sustainable energy transition.<\/p>\n

The Importance of the RE-Source Platform <\/strong><\/p>\n

PPAs provide companies with long-term, stable access to green energy<\/strong>, reducing exposure to price volatility in the market while enabling them to achieve their sustainability goals. The RE-Source Platform connects renewable energy producers with industries. The fact that strategic partners of the Platform include Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Meta, and Metlen Energy & Metals underscores the recognition by global industries of the importance of collaboration to drive an efficient energy transition and achieve decarbonizations targets. In countries with a well-developed PPA market, companies can directly purchase renewable energy at fixed prices over multi year periods. This reduces risk and ensures cost predictability. Many companies in Europe now secure up to 100%<\/strong> of their energy needs this way, safeguarding themselves against rising electricity prices.<\/p>\n

Standardization of PPAs and Achieving ESG Goals <\/strong><\/p>\n

The conference will bring together key players from the regional electricity market who will share their experiences in negotiating PPAs. Special attention will be given to standardized contracts<\/strong>, with a focus on the risks that such template agreements effectively address. ESG goals<\/strong> (Environmental, Social, and Governance) represent key guidelines companies implement to ensure the sustainability of their operations. To achieve sustainability, the focus is on reducing environmental impact and selecting environmentally friendly products and services.
